The amplified version of the bible can be quite thorough can’t it? Ephesians 4:31-32 is such a great passage to read over… and then read over again. If we can do what this passage says, then we will be loving our neighbors as we should.
The important thing that we should ask ourselves is, “how’s my heart?” Remember that the mouth speaks from the over flow of the heart. How do we treat those around us… your parents, you’re kids, your spouse? Are you compassionate and forgiving?
Read the following passage and have a good honest look in the mirror. Ask God, “how am I doing?”
Let all bitterness and indignation and wrath (passion, rage, bad temper) and resentment (anger, animosity) and quarreling (brawling, clamor, contention) and slander (evil-speaking, abusive or blasphemous language) be banished from you, with all malice (spite, ill will, or baseness of any kind). And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you.
